ROCCAT may not be quite as well known as some gaming-centric peripheral makers, but it looks like its doing its best to make its mark with a new line of peripherals, including a gaming mouse and keyboard. Dubbed the ROCCAT Kone, the mouse looks to sport all the features an excessively-demanding gamer would expect, including no less than ten buttons, four removable weights, and a customizable light system with "thousands of colors." While you apparently won't get quite as many color options with the ROCCAT Valo keyboard (pictured after the break), you will still at least get illuminated keys (including 41 macro keys), along with 2MB of memory for storing up to five profiles, and even an integrated noise-canceling microphone. Look for it and the mouse to set you back €100 and €70 (or $147 and $103), respectively, when they hit Europe in February, with a matching mousepad also available for €20 (or about $30).

If you want to add a layer of security on your PSP, or want to get more options in protecting your PSP's content from snoops, then check this out. Homebrew developer maxthebest managed to come up with Protect-me, a C coded homebrew that when installed, prompts users to put in a password upon booting up XMB.

Maxthebest wasn't able to include a read-me file in the download, but he was able to post instructions in the QJ PSP Development forums on how to use his program, which we quote:

To install it, run the PBP inclued with your PSP (to set the password) and then put the prx (password.prx) in ms:0/seplugins and activate it via the recovery menu...

And now it will ask you a password at each XMB boot. You can change the password with launching the EBOOT.PBP which you ran to install the pass.

I would be getting this screen finally....been looking for a 22" monitor for a long time...after months of research and promotions...finally settled for this monitor....but buyers of this monitor beware....there are 3 versions of this monitor even though its the same model....the panels made by different manufacturer better check before u buy this....there are A panel (LOTS OF DEFECTS) , S panel (made by samsung best!!) and the C panel ( defects but able to fix yourself).

This album is a tribute to our loss in the semi finals...
We were almost there team...we beat strong teams that Terrence & Taufiq's team could not....we did our best and only screwed up at the semi....we were too rushed....we too focused on winning the game and made too many errors....i too made some errors the balls i delivered to mimi were too high for him....maybe got too used to passing to leon and lewis to score.....i forgot mimi was short......i think our interest in the rugby team have once again grown stronger....some were on the verge of quitting...but this competition pulled us together....we saw our potential from losing to wining and was 1 step away from finals repeating our rp vs rp tradition in the finals....its alright...we barely played with each other during training...most of the time we were playing against each other instead of with each other..... i do hope to see the year ones down for training on thursday or our team is falling apart....there are barely 5 people going for each training....what is this? how are we gonna live up to our standards if we continue on like this......please helmi and saiful and shankar, pull ur team together....pull the year ones back in to training.....u wan to own, you gotta practice man....

This is because almost the whole of RP is connecting to yandao.com's server...imagine how much load that is....the server of cos would lag...there should be around thousands and thousands of ppl using his server today....i am trying to set up my own server as welll but my server wont be able to hold that much because my server does heavy transfers.....so most probably my server would only be given to ppl close to me and friends...

As for others you could google for socks4 lists and use socks that are using port 80/8080/443...443 has not much traffic in RP so that would be a gd port to use...but its hard to find good ones....if any one finds good ones...pls share! You could tag my blog and tell me and i will help u spread the message....

Problems connecting to socks:
MSN plus was one issue....please make sure you have the latest version of MSN Plus if you are using socks...you could google for socks problems with msn plus to find out more....

Check out half life 2 in command and conquer style!!

Really, saying Gordon Freeman toppled the Combine is like saying Paul Warfield Tibbets Jr won the war in the Pacific. Tibbets had the Enola Gay and the first Atomic bomb - Freeman had the HEV suit and the Gravity Gun. Of course he was going to win - but you can’t discount the guys who fought hard to get him to the right place at the right time.

Half-Life 2 Wars pays tribute to all those brave men and women who held off the Combine long enough for Freeman to break into Citadel 17 and randomly chuck some energy orbs at the walls. Or tribute to all those brave, er, mentally-enslaved Combine Soldiers who butchered half of humanity at the behest of a sinister alien power, depending on who you play as.

It’s an RTS in the Half-Life 2 engine, documenting the Rebel versus Combine conflict in the same way the Xbox 360’s upcoming Halo Wars converts Halo from fratboy shooter to armchair general strategising. It’s barely past tech demo stage at the moment, but it’s really lovely, a smart and pure celebration of the House That Valve Built. I shall be monitoring its development closely.

The nuts and bolts of RTSdom are there - the minimap, dragging boxes to select multiple units, build queues, capture points - but what’s really impressive is how neatly existing Half-Life 2 elements fit an RTS. Need to take down a Combine gunship? Then you’ll have to build a Rebel soldier with an RPG. Setting up base defences? The turrets and landmines we know from HL2 are your turtling repertoire. Combine Elites cost more to build than Combine Soldiers. Antlions Zerg. Zombies play the part of the neutral factions you’d find in Warcraft III or Age of Empires III - easily-aggravated beasts guarding useful assets. It just makes so much sense. I can’t believe no-one’s done this already.

It’s very, very early, with a lot of work to go - just two rather sparse levels, with minimal AI and no base-building as yet - but it’s a ton of fun to see the familiar in such a different, and well-considered, format.

Grab it from here. You’ll need Hl2 and Episode One to run it. If you don’t have them, then that would mean you haven’t yet bought The Orange Box, and that you are an idiot.

Looks like 1.1.2 isnt so tough after all...the jailbreak is already out! Stay tuned people....Looks like its gonna be another PSP scenario where everytime a new firmware is released, hackers would hack it....maybe we would even get custom firmwares for our iphones just like the PSP......

iPhone 1.1.2 is in fact jailbroken! Following the earlier day fashions of jailbreaking 1.1.1 is the familiar & tedious method used to jailbreak 1.1.2. The key: preparing the device before hand. So you may need to downgrade if you’ve already updated to the latest version. Erica over at TUAW (see source link) has put said method to the test while detailing the entire procedure.

Also noted:

…The general purpose post-upgrade tool has not been generally released. If you oktoprepped and upgraded you are fine–the tool will follow soon–but you really don’t want to do that until the tool gets released.

It’s a safe bet we’ll soon see [multiple] one-click app(s) that take care of the necessary preparation. Sit tight, be patient — 1.1.2 ain’t all that anyway.

Looks like there's a new PSP custom firmware in town! Dropping by the QJ.NET forums is Coolj, announcing the latest release of his good friend _HellDashX_: Custom Firmware 3.72 HX-1. This is built off of Dark AleX's 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware (we'll explain this in a bit).

Now you'd probably remember _HellDashX_ for the Anti Update for the PSP Slim plugin that he created last month (it's a prx plugin that allows you to "hide" the UMD Update icon - keen huh?). At that point in time, _HellDashX_ had reverse engineered the code from the original programmers of the Anti Update, Team tOc.

This time around, with Custom Firmware 3.72 HX-1, _HellDashX_ had reverse engineered Dark AleX's CFW code (as you might have already guessed). Coolj notes that he was not the creator of this CFW - it's _HellDashX_. Coolj just helped out with some stuff and beta tested the brew.

_HellDashX_ says that the custom firmware's recovery interface is the old version and promises to replace it with an entirely new one in an update. The updater used mirrors Dark AleX' own updater, though reversed engineered by _HellDashX_.

According to the homebrew developer, the 3.72 custom firmware shares similarities with 3.71, so the code was simply adapted for the new firmware revision. Also, he reminds users that this release does not come with the kernel from firmware version 1.5.

I am currently using Logitech G1...i like it alot....my next mouse i would consider would either be logitech or microsoft mouse....i wont even consider razor anymore....it sucks in my opinion...u paying more for brand than performance.....the only razor mouse worth buying is the black adder....my friend has it and it feels quite ok....still prefer logitech in my opinion....maybe cos im an old MX300 user....if you are into gaming for many years....you all should know mx300 was one of the longest lasting mouse ever made....now the 2nd to it is the logitech G1....that was the reason why i bought the G1 in the first place...its still looks as gd as new...been using for almosta year already...unlike my Razor diamondback...it wear and tear and the color and paint kinda faded off already within less than a year.....my GF is now the current owner of the white razor diamondback......razor was just too high sensitive i misclicked alot of times while playing dota....unlike logitech....i had 0 misclicks.....Do consider and do alot of research before buying a gaming mouse....better yet....try see if u have friends who have that particular mouse and try it before buying.....

New Update out for Doom on PSP

ony PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Chilly Willy is back with another update to his ADoomPPC conversion, and this time we'll be able to enjoy some old-fashioned FPS action in a much smoother and faster clip than before, as well as the big bonus of being able to play online (provided there's a wireless access point for Infrastructure Play). Let's take a look and see what else is in store for us this time around in the world of the Green Marine Dude and his adventure on the PSP.

Here's the complete changelog for Doom for the PSP v1.2:

v1.2 - 2007/11/02:

• Added ability to access the OSK during the game so that strings can be entered.
• Slowed the OSK by half to make inputting characters easier.
• TRIANGLE can now be used as BACKSPACE when entering the game save description.
• Added network support for Infrastructure TCP/IP (wireless access points).
• Also added a selector for 16:9 or 4:3 rendering to the LCD menu; that way you can have "normal" graphics in 480x272 mode.
  
• Optimized the rendering for almost twice the frame rate.

After lots and lots of considerations...i finally moved to vista....i know Vista Still Sucks for gaming....but i got bored of using Windows XP....Since i now do more WORK than Game....i might as well just go for a switch......I would be again...posting tweaks for windows vista and any news on windows vista too because i am a user of it....anything that i have/use i will provide with news and tweaks on it......if anyone using Vista have any Tweaks to share let me know.....

1st post would be about the windows Vista Side Bar...im sure u all know wads that....i find the side bar super useful.....it help me work alot more faster....especially with the google search and wikipedia search.......

Google recently added IMAP support to its Gmail email service, a major boon for iPhone users since it allows changes made by the user to be reflected on the server, won’t put both sent messages in your inbox and more. In addition to text-based step-by-step instructions, Google has now posted a video demonstrating how to setup IMAP Gmail on the iPhone. The process is pretty simple: Enable IMAP in your Gmail account settings through a Web browser, then create a new “Other” mail account in your iPhone’s mail settings (the “Gmail” icon for creating new accounts doesn’t yet work with IMAP). The video is displayed below, but you won’t be able to view it on an iPhone due to the lack of Flash support.

PssxP is a Sony PSP homebrew snowboarding game with one very simple oblective: guide your character down the slope in one piece. Along the way there will be some obstacles, so quick reflexes are the order of the day when you speed down the ice trying to cheat death.

Aside from nice visuals and sounds, there are three distinct modes to up PssxP's replay value. There's the Normal mode, the Custom mode, and Everlasting mode. Here are the specifics for each according to Buddy4point0:

Normal

• Normal mode has 5 levels, level 1-3 add objects and get slightly faster and level 4 and 5 only increase speed.
  
• In normal mode you have 3 lives and a set distance you have to go to beat the level
  

Everlasting

• In everlasting (high score) mode you keep going until you die once
  
• You get a point for every millisecond that your playing
• At the end your high score is saved and you can try and beat it.
  
• have family and friends try to beat your score too.
  

Custom

• In custom mode you can chose how much of everything you want
  
• How many trees,rocks, and snowmen you want, how fast, how far you have to go, amount of lives you have, etc.
  
• Easy to use menu for choosing everything.

PSP homebrew developer Dark_Moon has released the latest version for PSP Protection Password. The app allows you to prohibit other people from using your PSP by locking the unit with a password on bootup.

Dark_Moon also recently released the source code for PSP Protection Password v0.3. The new version, v0.4b, adds a configuration file to the app. Here's the changelog from Dark_Moon:

• Added a configfile for skip or don't skip the initial effect.
• If you have a psp 3.40 OE - 3.52 m33 and you don't generated the password.txt and don't put it on the same folder of ppp, now there is a 'secret' password that is 1234 and with this you will can go to the xmb.
• If the password.txt is in the same folder of ppp this password won't be correct, will be correct your password generated.
• If you have 3.40OE - 3.52 M33 and you use the flashed version of it, replace the eboot.pbp located on flash0:/cfw/boot by this.

This mod has the camera installed directly inside the PSP Phat, in place of where the UMD drive used to be. Here's Rex's video demonstration to give you a better idea of how it works:




Rex further noted that future projects include plans to build the Chotto Shotto into the PSP Slim. What makes this attempt interesting is that it won't involve removing the UMD drive. That's it for the moment, although you guys may also want to keep on the lookout for a tutorial - the modder plans to release one soon.

The language of iPhone hacking seems impenetrable to those new to it. If you're interested in making a bit more of your iPhone but find current discussion of it like jumping into some opaque, comic book epic on episode #435, here's a brief run-through of terms to get you up to speed.

Firmware -- the iPhone's built-in programming, embedded into memory set aside for this purpose. Apple releases periodic updates to this code, and it's a combination of earlier unauthorized modifications and official update number 1.1.1 that led to the current "iBrick" situation. To hardware grognards, the dangers of injudicious firmware fiddling are well-known but Apple's made the process of updating simple and straightforward — at least for those who toe the line.

Hacks -- This refers to all the adventures herein, be they baffling text commands or GUI applications. So called "jailbreaks" provide beach-head access to the system in juicy anticipation of further hacking. Other hacks activate the phone for general use without forcing the user to go through the official process. Others unlock the phone from AT&T's mobile network (two popular examples are iPhoneSimFree and AnySIM), while others make easy the installation of unofficial software.

Jailbreak - a hack that gains access to areas of the iPhone that users aren't supposed to mess with. Typically, this is an immediate prelude to either installing cool programs, unlocking the handset for use with another cellular network, or both.

Activation - Out the box, the iPhone doesn't do much except look pretty and make emergency calls. Activation gives access to normal operation. Typically this is accomplished using iTunes, by obediently signing up for service with official carrier AT&T. But if the world comprised of only obedient people, we wouldn't be here today. With buggered-up iPhones.

Unlocking - You can often pay a premium to buy a phone untethered to a particular carrier. Apple's iPhone is not such a phone. Cupertino developed powerful and complex locking systems to prevent you from leaving AT&T's cold embrace. Though unofficial unlocking solutions soon arrived, it was these unlocked iPhones that faced the worst problems after Apple's official 1.1.1 firmware update.

Brick - Traditionally, "bricked" hardware is that which becomes permanently inoperable, especially due to a failed firmware update or attempt at modification. With an iBrick, however, the term is somewhat broader — many bricked iPhones still fire up, but are effectively unusable for one reason or another. The good news is that they may be recovered without messing with hardware. The bad news is that you still can't call mom until someone figures out how.

Apps — The programs which run on the iPhone. While anyone with the coding chops can write a web-based application for use on the iPhone's Safari browser, developers crave access to the phone itself—access that Apple has not yet provided. So-called "native" apps are faster, better, and allow access to iPhone functions that Safari does not. Many iPhone users are happy with official carrier AT&T and hack their handsets simply to run these programs.

Many other terms pop up during the day-to-day explorations that hackers embark on as they solve problems and instill new functionality in the iPhone. "Baseband," for example, refers to that part of the iPhone's firmware memory used by its radio chip, which has proved tricky to modify. SSH is the command-line interface you'll run into soon enough if you get involved.
