This guide works for downloaded versions via Hamachi lan only!
Connecting
- Connect to the internet
- Login to hamachi
- Disconnect all networks except hamachi (Internet, LAN, etc...)
- DONT CLOSE HAMACHI, let it keep retrying to connect.
- Launch the game, Select Multiplayer->LAN
- Press Alt+tab
- Restore your internet connection
- Hamachi will relog
- Alt+tab again and play
If the game still does't work, you may try to upgrade or downgrade the version of your Hamachi to 1.0.1.5, which has been reported by users to be fully compatible with the game. You should find it easily on web search pages.

Issues
It is important to use a complete original fully patched game. This is not a Hamachi issue; it is a game issue. Multiplayer Internetcannot work with cracked games but lan can:
If you wish to use LAN with a cracked game you will need:
- Daemon Tools Lite (See link below)
- A DVD Mini Image (See link below)
- Y.A.S.U. (See link below)
- Edit your hosts file to exclude THQ's servers

-Note: it is okay to use the same cd key for all computers.
Sequence to use (For Cracked Games ONLY):
A) Ensure you have the full original COHRelic.exe file and the original rs.dll file in your installation folders. If not, re-install the game to restore the original files in the correct locations.
B) Edit HOSTS file: This is found at WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
- Open the "hosts" file with notepad. DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING. After the last line press ENTER to get to a new line
- Add 127.0.0.1 cohlive-1.quazal.net, press ENTER
- Add 127.0.0.1 cohlive.quazal.net
- Close and Save
C) Download and install Daemon Tools Lite

D) Download Mini Image
- Same site. Look for: Company of Heroes [ENGLISH] No-DVD/Fixed Image
- Same site. If you have OPPOSING FRONTS add-on look for: Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts [ENGLISH] No-DVD/Fixed Image
E) Download Y.A.S.U.
- Y.A.S.U v1.5.8111 (23-11-2008) (37 KB)
- Place YASU in the installation directory of Daemon Tools. (Usually: X:/.../Program Files/Daemon Tools Lite)
Now, you are ready to go. Follow these steps to get started:
1) Run Daemon Tools Lite
2) Mount the mini image you had downloaded (Depending on which version you have; Normal or Opposing Fronts)
3) Run YASU -> Left Click -> Cloak Devices
4) Run Hamachi -> Allow it to establish connections and show you in your favourite VPN
5) Disable your main internet connection (Typically a Local Area Connection or a Wireless Connection)
6) Run Game -> It will first ask for your disk, click OK. It will then freeze while it displays: "Validating Media". After a few seconds this connection attempt will time out and you will be in the main game screen.
7) Set up your Multiplayer->LAN Game
8) Using Alt+Tab go back to your netowrk connections and re-enable your main connection.
9) Wait until hamachi is back online and everything is green and functioning
10) Do the whole process to all computers playing in the game.
HINTS & TIPS
- Make sure your Hamachi connection takes higher priority than any other connection (Look in this WIKI on how to do this)
- If you have Ipv6 protocol enabled on your Hamachi connection, disable it. (In connection properties, untick the IPv6 box)
- Connection Combinations:
- XP Host + XP Client = OK
- Vista Host + Vista Client = OK
- Vista Host and XP Client = OK
- XP Host and Vista Client = NOT OK
- W7: In all cases if one of the players has W7 they MUST be the Host of the multiplayer game
