Remember to check back here for the latest Updates on PSP GO hacking scene! Follow me on twitter!
Mere days after the PSP Go hit retail stores to mixed reactions on 1 Oct, hacker Freeplay has managed to exploit some existing security vulnerabilities on a certain PSP gameand ran an unsigned code on it. The hack reportedly took advantage of modified save data files and restricted to user mode only – meaning changing the existing files on flash is impossible (no custom firmware flashing). For now, Freeplay has no plans to share the hack till he gets more help but at least we have concrete proof that the Go isn't homebrew-proof after all...definitely great news for PSP homebrew developers!
“While Sony went to great lengths towards preventing a repeat of the Pandora battery hack on PSPgo, they evidently forgot to patch up some existing security vulnerabilities on the software side. Mere days after the launch of the new hardware, homebrew developer FreePlay has managed to run unsigned code on it. Above is a video clip showing off his efforts in the form of a hello world proof of concept.”
